Where the bloodyhell have you been?

It's 2017. Sorry. It's been two years since I've written anything here and I am so deeply ashamed. So much has gone on, so much has changed since I made that one-pot kale pasta, I actually cannot believe it. I've moved home three times since then, got a degree and my first full-time job. I have grown a lot in the past two years and I have learned so much more about how to do (and how not to do) life.

B U T  I  S T I L L  L O V E  F O O D . Some things never change.

Love this view from the roof!
So where am I? What's going on? I now live in London with Ben after livingin Surrey for a year. We wanted to move closer to our jobs and closer within the city and this place is coming up trumps. I know it's had a bad rap but we absolutely love our flat, our options (you can go anywhere from here!) and love the little foodie gems we've been finding.

I am working at a national newspaper with the community desk. We work to listen to audiences and their contributions in reaction to our pieces, the news and all kinds of different topics. It's been such a whirlwind doing this job, especially with all that's happened in the news. It's weird to think that when I'd last written a post here, Donald Trump was an eighties throwback; Brexit wasn't even on the cards and King Jong Un, much like I, had an addiction to cheese. It was a much simpler time.

I'm also doing WeightWatchers, which has not restricted me in the slightest and I've actually stuck to it for five months now. It's been an interesting journey so far and I think being interested in food has helped me stick to it as I've been playing around with alternatives, new recipes and ingredients. Maybe I'll post more about that here too, going forward.

So anyway, I've tried a lot of food since that one-pot pasta. I've seen a lot of things. Been to a lot of places. There's been some great food market action recently in London which I'm excited about. I have constantly been on the look out for new food to try and for ways to recreate them at home. And I've revamped this little space to tell you all about it - do you like it? I think it looks a lot fresher. Fresh vibes for a fresh start.

So I hope you've had a cracking 2017 so far (despite all of the weird political crap that's being flung at us all left, right and centre!). Here's to a new beginning at Wham Bam Marjoram.

Love,

Ashley Rose x
